SAN PEDRO DE ATACAMA

 

San Pedro de Atacama es una pequeña ciudad construida alrededor de un oasis en una meseta desértica, con una población de unos 5.000 habitantes. El modo de vida tradicional y los paisajes de otro mundo que se extienden por el desierto de Atacama atraen a los turistas que vienen a disfrutar de la belleza escénica, el estilo de vida sencillo y la cultura ancestral que aún prospera en el pueblo. La iglesia de San Pedro de Atacama, del siglo XVI, es el punto de referencia de la ciudad, y el pueblo de artesanos es el lugar al que hay que ir a pasear para descubrir las antiguas tradiciones artísticas locales que aún se practican aquí.
